Natural Hair - Confidence Boost your way through!!!

Hey Folks!

I think I mentioned earlier that wearing the natural look requires some psychological transitioning. Even the most seasoned veterans still occasionally find themselves at this "crossroad"...where they have to 'confidence boost' their way through....LOL!

Sooooooo......(as I put myself on the couch)...Let me be transparent and say this...

I feel most confident and beautiful when my natural hair is big and pretty like this....I wish I can wear this look everyday!!!

The problem is....if I don't retwist at night --- I wake up the next morning looking like this.....(LOL!!!) Yes - matted and tangled hair!!

AAAGGHH!!!!! LOLOLOL!!!! Did I scare you?!?!? 

Now I could just bite the bullet and retwist each and every night in order to stay in my comfort zone. I have done this before, but that gets tiring after a while. Eventually I became a 'slave' to a style that was once fun. This is where I think lots of naturals get discouraged. They end up working waaayyy too hard to stay in their comfort zone.

Somtimes you have to 'confidence boost' your way through your comfort zone to BE FREE!! Who wants to spend a whole lot of time, effort, and thought on hair maintenance.... For this reason I keep 'testing out' protective styles <not my favorite look but a necessary evil>. I try to focus on 'jazzing it up' with makeup, accessories, mental affirmations, etc. It really does work...

This week, I've been wearing my hair in two strand twists. I put on some makeup, accessorized, and 'strutted my stuff' in front of the camcorder this morning --- #confidenceboosting! I'm sharing this for those who have found themselves to be "slaves to the comfortzone".
